Chem ED-Virtual Seminar Series

 

The Chemistry Education Division of Chemical Institute of Canada brings together members in the field of Chemistry Education.

The goals of our seminar series are: 

  • Foster community and sharing of expertise among Chemistry Education Division members

  • Provide to educators who may not always have access to wider community audiences opportunities to share their teaching and learning scholarship and activities.

  • Provide a platform for traditionally marginalized voices in chemistry education, including those in non-traditional faculty roles.

  • Provide opportunities for discussion of topics and for conversations in formats not commonly seen in departmental speaker events or conference presentations.

We are pleased to introduce a new series of virtual talks covering a wide range of topics in chemistry education, including laboratory education, online learning analytics and assessment, chemistry in Indigenous culture, BIPOC experiences in chemistry academia and much more.

Conferences

Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition

This conference takes place annually at various cities throughout the Canada. For 2025, the conference will be hosted in Ottawa from June 15-19 (called CSC 2025). You can now submit your abstract until Jan. 30th, 2025. Learn more

Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference (CSChE)

College Chemistry Canada (C3) Conference

The C3 (College Chemistry Canada) conference is dedicated to the promotion of the teaching of chemistry primarily at the college and university level. The 2025 conference will be held at Simon Fraser University from May 23-25, 2025. Stay tuned for more details. Learn More Here

Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) Conference

The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) hosts an annual conference that encourages and facilitates the improvement of teaching and learning in post-secondary education in Canada through workshops and sessions. The 2025 conference will be held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan from June 10-13th. Learn More Here

Biennial Conference on Chemical Education (BCCE)

The Biennial Conference on Chemical Education (BCCE) is a national meeting designed for those who teach chemistry at all levels: K-12, secondary school science teachers, undergraduate students, graduate students and post-secondary chemistry faculty. The 2024 conference was held at the University of Kentucky, USA on July 28-August 1st. The 2026 BCCE will be held on the lakeside campus of the University of Wisconsin–Madison from July 26-30, 2026. ChemEd Conference

ChemEd is the largest conference in North America for high school chemistry teachers and provides chemistry educators an opportunity to share their teaching experiences, classroom innovations, and laboratory experiments. The 2025 biennial conference will be held at the Colorado School of Mines, Colorado from July 20-24, 2025. Learn More Here

Southern Ontario Undergraduate Student Chemistry Conference (SOUSCC)

SOUSCC provides undergraduate chemistry and biochemistry research students with the opportunity to showcase their research with Ontario's and neighboring region's chemical community.
